NANAIMO – Demand for British Columbia’s crane, backhoe, and bull dozer operators could soon be as large as the machinery they drive. Premier Christy Clarks ten year job plan expects a massive demand for the heavy equipment sector, but are there enough skilled workers in BC to meet the lofty demands. New coal plants opening on the mainland and shipbuilding contracts for the west coast are putting pressure on the province to train a massive amount of skilled workers to fill jobs that will come over the next several years.
