There is no better time to train for a career in the Civil Construction or Mining industries. At Tai Poutini Polytechnic (TPP) we teach you the basics and then you can head into the industry ready to up-skill. Our tutors have great industry contacts and can help you gain employment when you graduate.

Our Civil Plant Operation programme can be studied at campuses in Auckland, Hamilton, Manawatu, Christchurch and Invercargill. Topics are broken down into modules for easier study. These include:
•safe operation of heavy machinery including diggers, excavators, loaders, rollers and trucks
•the operation and maintenance of small plant and equipment
•the preparation and setting of civil construction work sites including plan reading, levelling and site set-out
•workplace first aid certificate
•training and assesment for wheels, tracks and rollers

TPP also has Civil Construction, Quarrying and Mining; and Drilling programmes available on the West Coast, NZ.
